Sofian Tales

Или, същото, само че на английски. Очаквам мнения и критики :).

I would like to tell you now
a little story about how
I was travelling in the tram.
Lots of things were going on -
some were good and some were bad,
a little strange, a little sad.
I decided in the end
I should take a pen in hand
and in short to represent
our Sofian temperament.
In the tram there's such bustling:
someone's hopping, someone's hustling.
People quietly start battling
and the tram just goes on rattling.
The tram-driver's driving madly,
he's smoking a cigarette gladly,
listening to a music gang.
The next moment there's a sound - bang! -
and the passangers are smashed
against the walls and corners crashed.
All those nice and decent people -
some are gloomy and some - gleeful -
can do nothing but abide
and wait for the end of the ride.
That well-dressed bloke over there
obviously doesn't care
'bout the fact that he's, I see,
travelling absolutely free.
Over there a sturdy grandma
is creating a real drama
whizzing like a hurricane,
pushing some kids down the lane.
Jumping like a nervous wreck,
as if she's playing kyuchek
on people's feet in her way.
Bravo, granny! That's the way!
Over here some swarthy brothers
as innocent as the early Fathers,
with a doubtful carelessness
are surveying all the mess...
And money, handbags and belongings
are extracted from their lodgings -
pockets, empty anyway,
expecting to be filled one day...
And the tram is late again.
Every station's such a pain -
jostle, crush, tumult and fuss...
The transport's making fools of us!
However, if you look outside,
you'll see a poster - big and wide.
In it there's a naked babe.
Isn't that Azis? Well, maybe.
His backside is stupendous!
And the billboard is horrendous,
but what can we do, I ask?
Others must fulfill the task
to adorn this ugly city
and make things look bit more pretty.
This little casual story
is a lovely allegory
of our daily Sofian life
and the ever-lasting strife
between the funny and the sad,
and between the good and bad
and... I guess that's all!
