The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, can be seen travelling on the underground; the Mayor of Rome, Ignazio Marino – riding his bike, and that of Madrid – Ana Botella – on the bus.
At the same time, the mayors of known and unknown towns in Bulgaria such as Ruen, Hitrino, Varbitsa , Venets, Nicolay Kozlevo, Isperich, Kaolinovo, Devnya , and Balchik, ride business cars costing hundreds of thousands of leva, purchased with taxpayers’ money, as early as the first year of their mandates. Despite being business cars, the mayors use them as private.
The Mayor of the Hitrino town travels in a 110.000-leva car, the Mayor of Varbitsa town – in a 100.000 leva one; that of Ruen town – in a 110.000 leva one; that of Venets town – in a 139.000 leva; that of Isperih town – a 70.000 leva one; and the Kaolinovo Mayor – in a 70 000 leva car.
The total record, however, is held by the mayor of Balchik, Nikolay Angelov, who rides a 150 000 leva limousine. His excuse for buying it is that such a car cannot be found at a lower cost, and a mayor is supposed to have an imposing car.

Туй то - хората по света душа дават да са за пример, нашите селяндури още си живеят в соц-а и зората на демокрацията, където колата е признак на престиж, понеже малцина разполагат с такава (обикновено руски модел, 10-та употреба), след като са чакали 10-тина-20 години, за да я получат, а изразът "Ей я, мина Мазда-та на Жени Живкова" е трагикомично илюстриране на факта, че в цялата столица съществува един-единствен автомобил, представител на тази марка. Може ли някой да обясни на тези мили хорица в коя година точно живеем?
